AI-powered ‘car reports’ for EVs now available with TezLab

Modern connected vehicles, especially electric vehicles (EVs), generate a wealth of data, but automakers often fail to provide owners with effective ways to utilize this information. TezLab, an app developed by Ben Schippers, aims to change this by offering a comprehensive data-driven experience for EV owners, starting with Tesla and expanding to Rivian vehicles.

TezLab’s “car report” feature provides users with a detailed analysis of their driving and charging habits, including the frequency of DC fast charging versus home charging, the number of times they’ve charged to 100%, and their personalized range estimates based on their driving style. The app also includes visualizations, such as a map of the owner’s potential travel range based on charge level and driving behavior. TezLab processes this information using machine learning to present the data in a meaningful and insightful way.

Furthermore, TezLab takes the experience a step further by comparing the user’s data to that of other Tesla owners. This allows EV enthusiasts to benchmark their battery health preservation efforts against their peers, fostering a sense of community and friendly competition. The app’s expansion to other popular EV models, such as Hyundai and Kia vehicles, is in the works, though it will require establishing relationships with additional automakers and securing more resources to support the growing user base.
