Student Seriously Injured in School Stabbing in London, Ont.

A Stabbing Incident at Oakridge Secondary School in London, Ontario

On Thursday morning, a stabbing incident occurred at Oakridge Secondary School in London, Ontario’s west end. Around 9:15 a.m., emergency services responded to a report of a possible stabbing in the area of Oxford Street West and Fiddlers Green Road. Upon arrival, a male youth was found with apparent stab wounds.

Further investigation revealed that the youth had been stabbed inside the school earlier that morning by another male. The principal of Oakridge Secondary School sent a message to parents, confirming the “isolated serious incident” and assuring that there was no ongoing threat to the school community. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The London Police Service is currently investigating the incident, and no arrests have been made yet. The Thames Valley District School Board has stated that the Traumatic Events Response Team is available on-site to support students and staff in processing the impact of this event. The school remained open for the remainder of the day for classes.
