Hurricane Milton Devastates Tampa Bay and Central Florida, Leaving Residents Without Power and Internet

Hurricane Milton wreaked havoc across Tampa Bay and Central Florida, causing widespread power and internet outages. While some residents were able to regain power, many struggled to restore their internet services.

Without internet access, residents faced difficulties in connecting their electronics for work and entertainment purposes. According to Spectrum, less than 200,000 of its customers in Florida were left without internet services as of noon on Tuesday. The outage affected several counties, with Hillsborough and Pinellas counties being the hardest hit, with 69,091 and 68,358 customers still offline, respectively.

To alleviate the problem, Spectrum has set up almost 45,000 Wi-Fi access points across the affected areas. Residents who have been impacted by the outage may be eligible for a credit on their monthly bill, but only if the interruption in their service lasted two hours and was not caused by a power outage. Customers can contact Spectrum to inquire about the credit.
