Attendees Wore Misleading Shirts at Rally

At a recent JD Vance rally in Detroit, a group of supporters was spotted wearing “Auto Workers For Trump” shirts, suggesting they were members of the auto industry. However, an investigation by the Detroit News revealed that at least half of the people wearing the shirts were not actually auto workers.

The shirts were distributed by the Auto Workers For Trump 2024 group, which was reportedly set up following the United Auto Workers (UAW) union’s endorsement of Kamala Harris. The group’s founder, retired auto worker Brian Pannebecker, had asked 30 to 40 auto workers, both active and retired, to attend the event and show their support for the Republican’s “pro-American worker policies.”

While some active auto workers were unable to attend due to work commitments, Pannebecker allowed their spouses to wear the shirts in their place. This resulted in a smaller number of actual auto workers being present at the rally, but their presence was enough for Vance to claim that he and Trump are allies of the auto industry. However, analysts warn that Trump’s policies could actually pave the way for China to become a global leader in electric vehicles, leaving America behind.
