Film Festival in Dubai


The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) was the largest film festival in the Arab region, founded in 2004. It focused on showcasing Arab, Asian, and African cinema, and helped develop the industry and talent in the region. The festival was held under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Dubai and was a not-for-profit cultural event. It featured the Muhr Awards, including the Muhr AsiaAfrica Awards, as the main festival awards. The festival also established the Dubai Film Market and Dubai Film Connection to raise the profile of local directors and enhance the careers of film professionals. Over the years, the festival screened a diverse range of films from around the world, including world premieres and international premieres, and attracted renowned filmmakers and actors to its red carpet events.
